The hero of our story was born in the poorhouse in an English city. The conditions were terrible. A desperate cry announced to everybody the arrival of a new citizen to the world. Adapted from the novel Oliver Twist, the second novel by English author Charles Dickens. It was originally published as a monthly installment novel in the Bentley's Miscellany magazine, directed by Dickens himself, between February 1837 and April 1839.
